Holidays to InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa by IHG

InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort and Spa by IHG sits at Douglas Bay near Portsmouth, on the edge of Cabrits National Park. The park covers 1,313 acres of tropical forest, coral reef and wetland, and Fort Shirley, the Caroni Bird Sanctuary and the Cabrits Dive Center are reached on foot. Douglas Charles Airport is about 32 km away. Check in is from 15:00, check out is at 12:00 and the minimum age is 18.

Eight room categories are published, from Premium Rooms with twin or king beds to the Two Bedroom Suite with two king beds, an outdoor private pool and an oceanfront position. The Emerald Pool Suite also has an outdoor private pool, and the Kweyol Suite has an outdoor bathtub. Every room has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a coffee maker and a television. The hotel does not publish a star rating, a total room count or a board basis.

Téya Wellness Sanctuary at Douglas Bay has wellness huts, a sauna, steam rooms, a yoga pavilion and treatment rooms, with massages, scrubs, facials and morning yoga. On the water you can paddle single, double and glass-bottom kayaks, try stand-up paddleboards, or go snorkelling and diving. Two floodlit tennis courts, pickleball and bicycles keep you active on land. Excursions cover waterfalls, hiking, horseback riding and whale watching, with sperm whales present all year and most sightings from November to March.

The resort lists four pools, and the main outdoor pool is open from 09:00 to 19:00 with a whirlpool, swim-up bar, cabanas and loungers. The beach on Cabrits Bay is reached directly, and the fitness centre stays open around the clock with a sauna. Wi-Fi, a children's playground and the Caribbean Pirates Kids Club are also on site. The hotel website gives one outdoor pool in its FAQ, which conflicts with the four pools listed elsewhere.

Five venues are listed on the dining page, although the hotel also describes two on-site restaurants. Cabrits Market serves a breakfast buffet daily and lunch on Sundays, Kwéyòl Restaurant offers contemporary Creole dishes on an open-air terrace beside the main pool, and Saltwood Bistro opens for dinner from Monday to Saturday. Rumfire Bar is a fire-lit evening bar with local bush rum cocktails, tapas and live music, while the Swim-Up Bar serves the pool area from 09:00 to 17:00.

The resort promotes packages for romantic, family and wellness stays. The Kalinago Suite, with its outdoor living area, furnished balcony and freestanding bath, suits a milestone trip, while the Caribbean Pirates Kids Club gives families time to relax together. An all-inclusive package page exists on the hotel website, but the board basis for each rate should be confirmed at the time of booking.
