The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas occupies a 35-acre estate on Paradise Island, combining contemporary style with longstanding Bahamian character. Opened in 1962, the resort is known for its landscaped Versailles Gardens, historic Cloisters and attentive butler service. It suits couples and families seeking a quieter beachfront stay with dining, wellness and activities available on site.
Accommodation is arranged across the Hartford Wing, the Crescent Wing and villa residences. The Hartford Wing formed the original 52-room hotel, while the Crescent Wing added 50 rooms in five two-storey buildings set around private gardens. Your butler can help with restaurant reservations, spa treatments and resort plans throughout your stay. Twenty-four-hour in-room dining can also be served in bed, on a private terrace or as a beach picnic.
The resort has six Har-Tru tennis courts, including four floodlit courts, with clinics, tournaments, lessons and equipment available. Ocean Club Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 Tom Weiskopf design extending over 7,100 yards, with complimentary transport provided. You can also use complimentary paddleboards and bicycles, join morning yoga or weekly fitness classes, or arrange personal training. The fitness centre includes Technogym cardio and resistance equipment, an outdoor free-weight platform and a steam room. Kids For All Seasons welcomes children aged four to 12.
You can choose from three temperature-controlled pools. The Family Pool is a lagoon-style pool with a sloping beach entry and waterfall, while the Versailles Pool is reserved for those aged 16 and over. The 125-foot Ocean Pool is an infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic. Four Seasons attendants provide bottled water, refreshments and complimentary amenities. The Spa at Four Seasons has eight Balinese-inspired treatment villas, each with a private garden and outdoor bath. Treatments include The Bahamas Rhythm, Coconut Poultice and ELEMIS Aroma Stone Therapy, alongside hair and nail salons.
Five restaurants and bars offer a variety of dining options throughout the day. DUNE, led by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, serves à la carte breakfast and French-Asian cuisine with seafood and Bahamian influences for lunch and dinner. Ocean offers Bahamian dishes and familiar favourites beside the pool, while Versailles Terrace serves Mediterranean food and lighter options. DUNE Bar specialises in Bahamian cocktails and lighter dishes, with live evening entertainment. Martini Bar and Lounge is associated with the 2006 film Casino Royale and serves a selection of martinis. In-room dining is available 24 hours.
A five-mile white-sand beach runs along the north shore of Paradise Island directly beside the resort. Atlantis is around seven minutes away, with complimentary shuttle transfers and access to the 141-acre Aquaventure water park included. Further excursions can take you into Old Nassau for Bay Street, the Pompey Museum, the Junkanoo Museum, Bahamian art galleries, and duty-free shopping. John Watling’s Distillery, snorkelling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, dolphin encounters and yacht charters can also be arranged.
