The former estate of Hendra Hadiprana, one of Indonesia's most respected art collectors, it is now an intimate, independent resort of twenty four villas and suites across six hectares of gardens and working paddies. It suits couples and families who prefer privacy to scale. The website does not publish a star rating.
All twenty four accommodations are villas or suites, each with original Hadiprana artwork. The One Bedroom Club Suite has views of lotus and lily ponds, while One Bedroom Club Pool Villas and Premier One Bedroom Club Pool Villas add private pools and outdoor bathtubs. The Two Bedroom Club Family Pool Villa suits families, and the two bedroom Hadiprana Estate has a 10 metre private pool. Club benefits include butler service and daily a la carte breakfast.
Days can be as active or as slow as you like. A tennis court, yoga classes and a guided rice paddy trek are all on offer, and the experiences menu includes a hot air balloon flight, a jungle buggy adventure and a half-day journey in a vintage VW Safari convertible. Cooking classes with Chef Dean, a Kecak dance performance at the resort's amphitheatre and Balinese Kitchen Culture workshops add a cultural thread.
The Spa has two Spa Suites overlooking the paddy fields, with signature treatments such as the Tanah Gajah Jade and Ancient Balinese Massage, flower and herbal bath rituals, couples massages and Pevonia spa rituals. A Health Club and yoga studio support your routine, and yoga classes follow the hotel schedule. There is a 25 metre swimming pool with Mount Agung as a backdrop, and several villas add a private pool.
The Tempayan serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily under a Balinese thatched roof, with panoramic views of rice fields and jungle from every table. Authentic Balinese dishes sit alongside Western classics, guided by Singapore-native Executive Chef Dean Nor, and the rice comes from the surrounding paddies. Kurasu at Panen Padi Lounge is a pop-up for specialty coffee and ceremonial matcha. Club benefits add afternoon tea and sunset cocktails.
The resort is on Jalan Goa Gajah, just outside Ubud, and is surrounded by ancient Hindu sacred sites including Goa Gajah and Pura Penataran Sasih. A private car with Wi-Fi runs to and from Ubud Centre for shopping and sightseeing, and sunrises over Mount Agung are visible from the grounds. The website does not state an airport distance or climate details, though airport transfers can be arranged.
