Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok is a five star hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River at Charoenkrung Soi 70, with 396 rooms and suites rising above its own private pier. A complimentary shuttle boat links the pier to Sathon Pier for Saphan Taksin BTS station in about fifteen minutes, and to the ICONSIAM shopping mall four times a day. Breakfast depends on the rate you book, so check before you go. The mix of balcony rooms, family suites and a Kids Club suits couples and families alike.

All 396 rooms and suites have floor to ceiling windows and a private balcony facing the river or the city, with a Smart LED TV, a complimentary minibar, a kitchenette and a bathroom with both bath and shower. Grand Deluxe Rooms cover 60 square metres, One Bedroom Suites 70, and Two Bedroom Suites 120 with two ensuite bedrooms and a dining area. Club rooms and the Skyline and Premier Suites add access to the Club Lounge on the 36th floor, and the Premier Suites on the 35th floor run to 250 square metres.

The Kids Club is an outdoor playground beside the pool on floor six, open daily from eight in the morning until six, where children can climb, slide, crawl and bounce. Club Lounge bookings include breakfast at River Barge, drinks and snacks through the day, afternoon tea and canapes with cocktails from five until seven. Beyond the pool, the gym and the rooftop bar, the hotel publishes no organised sports or evening entertainment programme of its own.

The 35 metre infinity pool sits on floor six above the river and opens from six in the morning until ten at night, with two children's pools, an outdoor jacuzzi, plenty of seating for sunbathing and the Flow pool bar for drinks and snacks. The Fitness Centre runs 24 hours a day with cardio machines and free weights. The hotel does not publish a spa, sauna or steam room, so treatments are not part of the stay.

Five venues cover the day. River Barge on the riverbank serves Thai and international dishes, with a Thai Geographical Indication buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Silver Waves by Boon on the 36th floor brings modern Cantonese cooking under Michelin starred chef Ho Chee Boon, with a dim sum lunch and a private dining room. Cloud 36 on the rooftop pours crafted cocktails until one in the morning with live music on selected evenings, the Lobby Lounge overlooks the garden for afternoon tea, and Flow serves the pool.

The shuttle boat is the way in and out, reaching Saphan Taksin BTS and ICONSIAM along the river. River City Bangkok is 2.5 kilometres away, about ten minutes by car or fifteen by boat, and Talat Noi is a fifteen minute drive. Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports are each around 45 to 50 minutes by expressway. The hotel publishes nothing on climate.
