LiT Bangkok Hotel sits on Kasemsan 1 Alley off Rama 1 Road in Pathumwan, the Siam district of central Bangkok, with 79 rooms and suites designed around light and the way you use it. The hotel does not publish a star rating, and breakfast depends on the rate you book. It is a smoke free hotel, and the design led rooms, the garden bar and the walkable setting suit couples and friends.

The rooms and suites come in four designs. Extra Radiance Rooms cover 32 square metres in bright yellow and grey with natural wood floors and an open bathroom whose lighting you set yourself. Different Degree Rooms of 34 to 36 square metres place the bed in the middle of the room facing the view. The Full Spectrum Suite at 48 square metres separates the bedroom from the living room with two televisions, and the Triple Luxe Suite at 52 square metres is built for three, with a closet for each. The hotel publishes no room views or balconies.

The activity list centres on the pool, the spa and the gym. Kiriya Spa draws on Thai performing arts and local herbs and spices for its massages and foot treatments, and the outdoor pool and steam rooms fill the afternoons. The hotel publishes no kids club, no organised sports and no evening entertainment programme of its own, though Fiesta Steppe gives the evenings a garden setting.

The outdoor pool looks onto the landscaped garden and opens daily from six in the morning until ten at night, with a Pool Bar alongside and separate male and female jacuzzis and steam rooms with changing areas. Kiriya Spa, inside the hotel, offers signature body massages including a Hot Seashell Massage, a Bamboo Massage and traditional Thai massage, plus foot therapies. The Fitness Centre on the ground floor looks over the central lawn and keeps the same six until ten hours.

Three venues cover the day. BCDE, the Bistro of Creative Drinking and Eating, serves a buffet breakfast, then transformed Thai and international dishes a la carte until half past ten at night, with a wine list and signature cocktails such as the Bangkok Midnight Blue. Fiesta Steppe is the alfresco garden bar on tiered decking, open from five in the afternoon until eleven for cocktails, spirits and local and craft beers. The Pool Bar serves snacks and drinks beside the pool.

The Siam district is on foot. MBK Center, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Siam Paragon and Central World are all walkable, as are the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, the Jim Thompson House and the street food of Bantadthong Street. Ratchathewi BTS station sits beside Coco Walk, and the Erawan Shrine, Chinatown, Chatuchak Market and ICONSIAM are further afield. The hotel offers airport transfers at a charge but publishes no distances or journey times, and nothing on climate.
