Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya is an all inclusive resort at Puerto Aventuras, on the Riviera Maya coast of Mexico. Music runs through the design, the entertainment and the daily programme, and the resort is big enough to suit families, couples and friends alike. Heaven, an adults-only retreat, sits within the same grounds. Heaven keeps its own beach, pool and restaurants for adults, while the rest of the resort welcomes families.
There are 1,264 rooms and ocean-view suites, decorated in a colonial Mexican style. Every room has a double hydro spa tub, a French style balcony, a Smart LED TV, free wireless internet and 24-hour room service. Choose from Deluxe Gold and Deluxe Diamond rooms, Sky Terrace and Rock Royalty options, family rooms with two bedrooms, or the Rock Suite and Rock Star Suite. Rock Royalty rooms come with a personal assistant on call.
Younger travellers have the Roxity Kids Club, open from 9:00 to 17:00, and the Rockaway Bay Water Park. Adults can book a guitar session at the Music Lab, try laser tag or lifestyle sports, or head to Club Heaven after dark. Live music and theme shows fill the events programme, and an 18 hole Robert von Hagge golf course lies just off the property. The Roxity Kids Club runs daily theme days, from talent shows to pool parties.
A private white sand beach opens onto a natural sea cove, with kayaking and saltwater snorkelling areas close by. The resort has tropical pools, including the Hacienda Azul and Hacienda Roja pools and a zero entry kids pool, plus swim up bars and hot tubs. The Rock Spa offers massages, facials and hydrotherapy, and the Body Rock fitness centre is open from 6:00 to 20:00. Yoga is taught daily in the adults-only Yoga Temple.
More than a dozen restaurants and cafes keep the all inclusive stay varied. The Market serves buffets, Los Gallos does tacos, Pizzeto bakes pizza in a wood burning oven, and Toro serves steak. Zen offers Asian dishes and Teppanyaki, Ciao is Italian, and Frida is Mexican. Float and Dive are pool bars, and room service runs all day and night.
Puerto Aventuras is the nearest town, and tours leave from the resort to swim with turtles at the Akumal Sea Turtle Sanctuary, explore the Rio Secreto cave system, sail to Isla Mujeres or ride ATVs and zip lines to a cenote.
