Heaven is the adults-only section of Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, an all inclusive resort at Puerto Aventuras on the Riviera Maya coast of Mexico. Music runs through the design and the mood, yet the setting stays relaxed and grown up. It suits couples and friends who want a lively stay without children around. Dress is smart casual in the evenings, with polo shirts and formal shorts welcome, while wet clothes and visible swimwear stay at the pool.

Rooms range from Deluxe Gold and Deluxe Swim-up to Deluxe Diamond, a one bedroom Sky Terrace and Rock Royalty Partial Ocean View, with Rock Suites above them. Every room has a double hydro spa tub, a French style balcony, a Smart LED TV and free Wi-Fi. Guitars and turntables can be borrowed on request. Swim-up rooms open onto the water, and Rock Royalty rooms come with a personal assistant on call.

Daily yoga, the Body Rock fitness centre, which opens from 6:00 to 20:00, and a Music Lab with guitar instruction give the days some shape. After dark, Club Heaven brings a live DJ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 1:00. You are also welcome across at the Hacienda side for its bars and live shows. Live music and theme shows fill the resort events programme.

The Eden Pool is reserved for those staying at Heaven, with walk-in cabanas, full service, entertainment and a swim up bar. Eden Beach sits in a natural sea cove, so you can swim, snorkel or kayak, then settle on a Bali bed. The Rock Spa has 48 treatment rooms, steam rooms and hydrotherapy current pools, with a Yoga Temple alongside. Treatments include the music-led Rhythm and Motion menu, and the Posh Beauty Bar covers hair and styling.

UMO serves Yucatan cooking with handmade tortillas and guacamole, while WAI gives Thai flavours a modern twist. Faro Gastro Market is a self-serve restaurant with dishes from around the world. Those staying at Heaven receive priority for reservations at UMO and WAI. Arribo Bar pours craft cocktails by the pool, and 24-hour room service is available. Puerto Aventuras is the nearest town, and excursions leave from the resort to swim with turtles at the Akumal Sea Turtle Sanctuary, explore the Rio Secreto cave system, sail to Isla Mujeres or ride ATVs to a cenote.
