Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa sits on a remote, palm-studded beach at Uvero Alto in Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. The AAA Four Diamond all-inclusive resort offers more than 800 suites, with a family-friendly section close to the waterpark and an adults-only section for couples. Every suite has a furnished private terrace or balcony with a hot tub, a mini-bar refreshed daily and 24-hour room service. On dry land there are tennis, volleyball and Cosmic Lanes, while live entertainment runs each night. The Explorer's Club looks after children aged 3 to 12 and the Core Zone Teens Club welcomes ages 13 to 17, both open from 9am to 10pm.

The pool area includes an infinity pool, a children's pool and a lazy river, while the jungle waterpark adds four water slides beside the family pool. Wi-Fi is included and a 24-hour concierge is on hand. The Preferred Club adds an exclusive lounge and two dedicated pools, one for families and one for adults only, with pool concierge and bar service.

Dining is à la carte with no reservations required, across almost two dozen restaurants and bars. Capers serves Italian specialities, Cin Cin Mediterranean cuisine, Mercure French brasserie dishes and Tamarindo Mexican flavours, while Spice pairs teppanyaki tables with Chinese wok specialities. Bluewater Grill is the steakhouse, Faire offers American favourites and Carnival International Café runs the main buffet. Barefoot Grill serves burgers on the beach, with a sports bar, swim-up bars and a theatre bar completing the line-up.

A seaside setting and an on-site wedding coordinator make the resort a backdrop for weddings and honeymoons. Romance packages range from complimentary options to more elaborate celebrations, including an intimate garden ceremony, and a four-course beachfront dinner for two can be added as an experience.
