Sandals Grenada sits on Pink Gin Beach, a stretch of powdery sand and calm turquoise water on the south-west coast near St George's. Cliffs and coves screen the resort, with distant mountains and rainforest beyond. Google rates it a five star hotel. This is an adults only resort designed for couples, and everything is included: meals, drinks, land and water sports, and the stocked minibar in your room.
Twenty two room categories run across three levels, Sandals Luxury, Club Level and Butler. Skypool Suites put a private infinity-edge plunge pool on the balcony, with a spacious living area, a stocked wet bar and a Tranquility Soaking Tub. Rondoval Cottages sit under thatched roofs with private plunge pools, and swim-up rooms open onto the water. Views take in the ocean and the gardens, and every room holds a minibar.
Water sports take in kayaks, paddleboards, Hobie Cats, windsurfing and snorkelling, with equipment and instruction provided. Scuba diving through the PADI programme is covered for certified divers. On land there is day and night tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball, bocce, table tennis, shuffleboard, board games and pool tables. The fitness centre runs high-energy group classes alongside cardio and weight training, and entertainment runs through the day and into the night.
Five pools and two whirlpools sit across the grounds, among them an infinity pool, an adult pool and a beachfront main pool that comes alive after dark with nightly celebrations. One pool holds a living room at its centre, built around a fire pit at the water's edge. Sun loungers, umbrellas and a sun terrace run alongside. Red Lane Spa handles massage, facial and couples treatments, and the fitness centre carries Life Fitness equipment with group classes.
Ten restaurants and six bars sit within the grounds, one of the bars built into a pool. Spices, Cucina Romana, Butch's Chophouse, Neptune's, Le Jardinier, Cafe de Paris, Dino's Pizzeria, Kimonos, Soy Sushi Bar and the Tipsy Turtle Pub cover the range, from teppanyaki cooked at the table to pizza and a pub. Local chefs work island dishes alongside global cooking, and minibars are restocked.
The underwater sculpture park and Levera National Park are the two attractions the resort points to first. Island Routes runs a half-day historical sightseeing tour, and a rainforest hike, river tubing and a snorkelling cruise can all be booked in advance. Maurice Bishop International Airport is a one-mile drive away, about two kilometres and roughly fifteen minutes, with transfers covered and an airport lounge on arrival and departure.
