Anantara Hoi An Resort sits on the banks of the Thu Bon River, less than a kilometre from the UNESCO World Heritage historic quarter, so you can walk into the Ancient Town whenever you like. The resort offers 92 rooms and suites, each with original Rehahn artworks and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, and a calm riverside atmosphere that suits couples, families and friends travelling together.

Six room categories are spread across the resort. Deluxe Balcony Rooms and Deluxe Garden Suites look onto the gardens from a private balcony or terrace, while Premium River Suites and the new Thu Bon River Suite open onto the water, with a dedicated host and a complimentary spa treatment included. The Anantara Garden Suite adds a separate living room and corner balcony, and the Anantara Two Bedroom River Suite gives four adults two en suite bedrooms and a large outdoor living area.

Anantara Spa has a double treatment room with a sunken bath, four single rooms, a relaxation room and a beauty salon, with Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, Reiki and mindfulness meditation alongside massage. Through Spice Spoons you can join a market visit and cooking class led by a personal chef, or learn lantern making with the resort artisan. River cruises and cultural outings, from basket boats to herb villages, are also on offer.

You can swim in the temperature-controlled pool, which has a children section, or train in the glass-walled gym, which has modern equipment and is open 24 hours a day. Complimentary bicycles are available when you want to explore the local area and nearby beaches. Planning an event? The Hoi An Riverside terrace and the Poolside Terrace each host up to 60 people, and the intimate Ballroom welcomes up to 80.

Breakfast is served at Lanterns, which overlooks the river. Hoi An Riverside offers Vietnamese dishes on a charming riverside terrace in the evening, and Art Space combines modern bistro cooking, wood-fired pizzas and cocktails in a gallery setting. The historic quarter is a short walk away, with its lantern festival held monthly on lunar dates and its UNESCO listed streets ideal for a guided walking tour. An Bang Beach is about five kilometres from the resort, and by road you can reach My Son Sanctuary, the Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills with its record-breaking cable car, and traditional artisan villages.
