Holidays to InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

Recharge in a private bay on Son Tra Peninsula, around 15 kilometres and 30 minutes by car from Da Nang International Airport. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort sits amid unspoiled nature, with bold architecture by Bill Bensley that marries local heritage with creative flair. It suits couples seeking romance, families and friends who want seclusion with plenty close at hand.

Rooms, suites, penthouses, villas and residences all have ocean views and private terraces, although the resort does not publish a room count. The Resort Classic Room offers 70 sqm of contemporary design with Vietnamese inspired decor, while the Resort Terrace Suite is a sleek corner suite filled with light from two sides. The One-Bedroom Seaside Villa by the Beach has its own infinity pool and a private staircase to the sand, and the One-Bedroom Spa Lagoon Villa adds a treatment room, sauna and steam room. Private villas, penthouses and residences all have infinity pools, with Club InterContinental privileges in selected categories.

Non-motorised water sports are complimentary, from kayaks and sailboats to stand-up paddleboards and windsurfing, with beach volleyball, football, badminton, pétanque, ping pong and billiards on the sand. Six pickleball courts and a tennis court sit across from the main gate, and hillside hikes and cooking classes add variety. Children aged 4 to 12 can join the Planet Trekkers Kids' Club each day from 9:00 to 18:00, and live music accompanies the weekly beach barbecue.

Three pools offer different moods. The 50-metre L_O_N_G Pool is a quiet, temperature-controlled, adults-only infinity pool with panoramic views and a built-in Jacuzzi area, the Garden Pool is a tranquil spot near the beach, and the Kids Pool sits beside it, all with food and drink service. Mi Sol Spa provides restorative treatments, the Nail and Hair Studio uses the Margaret Dabbs collection, and Soar Gym has Technogym machines and free weights, with complimentary tai chi and yoga classes.

A choice of restaurants and bars covers the day. La Maison 1888 is Central Vietnam's only Michelin starred restaurant, serving French cuisine by Christian Le Squer, while Tingara brings chef-led Japanese teppanyaki. Citron presents Vietnamese dishes from the North, Centre and South, set 100 metres above the resort, and Terra Mare serves Italian coastal flavours on the beach, with a Saturday barbecue buffet and bonfire. The 50-metre L_O_N_G Bar offers cocktails by day and into the night, with afternoon tea at Citron each day from 14:30 to 16:30.

The private 700-metre beach and sheltered bay make a memorable backdrop for weddings, with Paradise Dream, Timeless Elegance and private Just the Two of Us weddings available. Da Nang International Airport is 15 kilometres away, and the resort offers hiking to the 800-year-old banyan tree on Son Tra Peninsula. The dry season runs from March to August, and the Firework Festival lights up the city in May and June.
