Zazen sits on the sunrise beach of Bophut Bay on Koh Samui. Family run since it opened on 1 April 2000, it won a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2025 and is now reopening with a new beach club. There are 26 rooms in four types. Ten Garden Villas sit among tropical gardens, five Beachfront Suites stand on the sand, and four Tropical Suites Partial Seaview and seven Tropical Suites offer garden or gentle sea views. All are king bedded, with a private terrace or living space, a smart TV, a mini bar and silent air conditioning. The Beachfront Suites add a freestanding bathtub overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, while the Tropical Suites include a Balinese hammock on the terrace.

Kayaks, paddleboards and mountain bikes are available, and Kati Yoga Studio runs sunrise and sunset flow classes, private sessions and breathwork. Thai cooking classes take place at The Club with Chef Kool. Monthly DJ sessions and events at Little Beach add day and night entertainment. Babysitting is offered as an optional service, but no kids club or teens club is published. Diving trips and big game fishing tours are listed among the excursions.

A 27 metre infinity pool anchors the resort, with lounge chairs and towels provided and drinks from the Waya Swim Up Bar. Le Spa Zen has two air-conditioned treatment rooms, four open-air rooms and a beachfront sala, plus a hammam, an infrared sauna, an open-air jacuzzi and two cold baths. Kati Yoga Studio and a fitness centre complete the wellbeing side. After a treatment you can relax in the spa garden with complimentary tea.

The Club by Zazen is the beachfront restaurant and beach club, serving poolside breakfast, beachside lunches and dinners of Thai and Western dishes with views across the bay to neighbouring islands. Drinks come from the Waya Swim Up Bar and a palm-covered circular bar. Room service is listed on each room page. Opening hours and the total number of bars are not published.

Resort excursions include an island tour, Ang Thong National Park by speedboat, Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan, and a sailing junk cruise to Koh Phangan. Santiburi Samui Country Club is listed for golfers. The resort's own planners handle weddings and events.
