Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas sits on the secluded East Cape, in La Ribera, about 45 minutes by car from Los Cabos International Airport. It lies between the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and the Sea of Cortez, away from the Corridor crowds. The resort has the region's largest swimmable beach and its only private marina, which suits couples, families and groups who want space as well as service.
Twenty six accommodation types run from guest rooms and executive suites to two bedroom suites, residences and villas. Each has a private bar, a flat screen TV, premium Wi-Fi and 24 hour in-room dining. Views look over the ocean, beach, gardens or pools, and many options add a private plunge pool or terrace. Larger residences and villas bring private pools and a personal attendant, with five or six bedrooms for groups.
Water sports around the swimmable beach include kayaking, paddleboarding, Hobie Cat sailing and a sea trampoline, while the marina offers sunset cruises and direct access to Cabo Pulmo. On land you can play 18 holes at Costa Palmas Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones II, or try tennis, yoga and beach boot camp. Children aged four to twelve have a daily kids programme, and there is a Teen Centre.
Seven pools give you a choice of mood. The East Cape Pool is adults only, the Ocean Pool is a private enclave with sea views, and the Family Pool has a gently sloped entry like a shoreline. Oasis Spa has ten treatment rooms, couples suites with private plunge pools, a sauna, steam room and cold pools, and was named among the 100 best spas in the world by Vogue. The Fitness Centre is open 24 hours.
Thirteen dining and drinking options cover every part of the day. Limón sits in a lemon grove with a charcoal grill, Estiatorio Milos serves Mediterranean seafood on the beach, and Casa de Brasa is a contemporary Mexican grill. El Puesto offers sushi and an evening omakase, Mozza Baja serves Nancy Silverton's pizza, Delphine is a day club, and Zest is a nine course table for one party.
Los Cabos International Airport is 65.9 kilometres away, a drive of about 45 minutes, and a limousine transfer can be arranged. Within the resort, the Marina Village holds shops, cafes and Mozza Baja, served by a water taxi. Off site, the Adventure Concierge can organise horseback riding, a hike to the Sol de Mayo waterfall, ATV tours and whale shark encounters, so days can be built around the wider East Cape.
