Grand Velas Los Cabos is an all inclusive resort on the Tourist Corridor of Baja California Sur, holding Forbes Five Star status and the AAA Five Diamond rating. Mexican art and culture sit beside contemporary design, and the Sea of Cortez is steps away. It suits couples, families and friends who want a polished base with plenty of dining included.
The resort has 307 suites, each with a private terrace, and the hotel describes them as over 1,100 square feet. Ambassador Suites include Ocean View, Pool and Sunrise options, alongside the Family Duplex Suite, Grand Class Suite and Grand Class Corner Suite, where terrace plunge pools are on offer. The Governor, Ambassador Two Bedroom Family, Presidential, Royal and Imperial suites add separate living areas, immersion pools and jacuzzis.
The Kids Club welcomes children aged 4 to 12 from 9am to 11pm, with a splash area and covered playground below it. Teens aged 13 to 18 have their own club with a dance floor, pool table, karaoke and gaming pods. Adults can join oceanfront yoga on the Gym Terrace on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9am, or book ModuVated classes in pilates, kickboxing and barre. Paint and Wine, Mexican cooking and mixology classes add more ways to spend a day.
Three infinity pools step down towards the Sea of Cortez. The upper two tiers welcome all ages, with one holding a jacuzzi, while the tier closest to the sea is for adults. The SE Spa covers 35,000 square feet and assigns each visitor a personal spa valet. Its Water Journey is a seven step ceremony of sauna, steam room, ice room, sensory shower, polar pool, thermal lounges and sensation pool. The gym is open 24 hours a day.
Eight restaurants and six bars and lounges are listed on the resort dining pages. Azul serves a buffet with a live grill, Cabrilla is a poolside cevichería, and Velas 10 pairs steaks and seafood with oceanfront views. Cocina de Autor holds a Michelin star and serves an eight to ten course tasting menu. Sen Lin cooks Asian fusion, Lucca Italian Mediterranean and Frida contemporary Mexican, while Loto Robata Grill sits at the neighbouring Grand Velas Boutique. Koi Bar, Miramar Bar, Sky Sports Bar, Tequila & Mezcal, Amat Café and Bar Autor cover cocktails, tastings and coffee, with suite service open 24 hours.
Cabo San Lucas is about 13 miles away, roughly 15 minutes by car, and San José del Cabo is about 9.5 miles. Los Cabos International Airport is 24 miles away, which the hotel puts at 20 minutes on one page and 45 on another. The beach in front of the resort is not suitable for swimming because of undertows, so Chileno Beach, 1.9 miles away, is the place to swim. Golf courses nearby include Cabo Real and Puerto Los Cabos, and the area enjoys about 350 days of sunshine a year.
