Rated five stars, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita sits at Beau Champ on the east coast, where turquoise lagoon and the Indian Ocean frame lush grounds. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is about 35 km away, roughly 45 minutes by car. Private pool villas and larger residences make it well suited to couples, families and groups travelling together.
Villas come with a private pool, an al fresco shower and an outdoor terrace, and most sleep three adults or two adults and a child. Garden Pool Villa, Island Garden Pool Villa, Beach-View Pool Villa and Oceanfront Pool Villa each offer 105 sqm, with Premium Beach-View and Premium Oceanfront options adding an extended pool and terrace. For more room, the Three-Bedroom Royal Sanctuary spans 451 sqm with two private infinity pools, while residences of up to five bedrooms have fully equipped kitchens.
Golf is a real draw, with the Ernie Els designed Anahita Golf Club and the Bernhard Langer signature course on Île aux Cerfs. Two tennis courts come with a tennis pro, and non-motorised water sports, paddle boating and daily snorkelling excursions are on offer. Beachfront yoga, a guided nature walk and private cooking classes add variety. Kids For All Seasons and a Teens Club look after younger family members, and Blu'Zil adds live music in the evening.
Every villa has its own private pool, and the resort adds four outdoor pools, including a semi-Olympic lap pool at the Fitness Centre. Oseyan Spa stands on wooden pillars above the Indian Ocean and opens daily from 8am to 8pm. Its Thermal Suite brings a steam room, sauna, cold plunge and experience showers, while the spa gardens grow aloe vera and lemongrass for treatments. Yoga, personal training and group fitness classes keep routines easy to maintain.
Eight restaurants and bars give the days some variety. Radici serves contemporary Italian, Angara focuses on Indian tandoor cooking and Awase offers a Japanese-inspired pan-Asian menu. Chaloupe suits breakfasts and Mediterranean lunches by the pool, and also hosts Creole nights. La Plaz Beach Grill and Ti Pwason sit on the beach, while Rum Library and Blu'Zil cover evening drinks. In-Villa Dining runs around the clock.
A boat shuttle takes you to the Four Seasons beach on Île aux Cerfs, and Anahita Golf Club is about a five minute drive by shuttle. Port Louis and the seaside village of Grand-Baie are each about an hour away. Scenic helicopter flights last 45 or 75 minutes, and a helicopter transfer from the airport to the resort helipad takes 15 to 20 minutes.
