The Bay Club at Anahita is a 5-star resort in Beau Champ on the east coast of Mauritius, set within 213 hectares of lush gardens between the lagoon and an Ernie Els designed 18-hole golf course. It feels more like a private coastal club than a conventional hotel, with guests and residents sharing the estate. Families and golfers will find it a natural fit, and the airport is a 30 to 40 minute drive away.
Junior Suites sit along the first hole of the golf course, with a veranda that opens onto the gardens, a kitchenette with dining counter and a bathtub. Prestige Suites offer one, two or three bedrooms, a full kitchen, a terrace and a private infinity edge plunge pool, with golf course or sea views. Deluxe Villas face the fairways and have a private pool with deck.
The boathouse at Quayside offers Hobie Cats, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, windsurfs and pedal boats. On land there are tennis courts, a padel court available by reservation, bicycles and a gym. Sunlife Kids Club welcomes children from 8 months to 12 years in a 230 square metre space, and the Adamah Fine Arts International Gallery sits within the resort village. Group sessions include aerobics, step and fitness circuits.
GLOW spa and wellness spans 800 square metres, with nine treatment rooms, including one double room with its own garden. Treatments draw on Ayurveda based massage, bathing rituals and energy work by the sea, and separate changing rooms include steam rooms. The fitness centre is open from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm for guests aged 16 and above, with group classes such as yoga, aquagym and core workouts.
Il Forno overlooks the 18th hole, serving breakfast and a relaxed lunch before becoming an Italian trattoria in the evening. The Bay Club Delicatessen stocks gourmet Italian products, Sugar is a coffee shop and bakery, and Flibustier on Ćle aux Cerfs serves a bento style lunch beside the lagoon. Room service is available, and Prestige Suite and Villa stays can arrange a private chef.
The resort beach is fringed by an offshore coral reef, and a boat shuttle crosses to the beach on Ćle aux Cerfs, just five minutes away. That island is also home to the Bernhard Langer designed 18-hole course, which sits opposite the resort. Beau Champ and the Grande RiviĆØre Sud Est coast surround the estate, and weddings and meetings can be arranged on site. Boutique shopping is close at hand within the estate.
