Anantara Al Baleed Resort Salalah sits between a white-sand beach and a freshwater lagoon, next to Al Baleed Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its design draws on Dhofar heritage and the region’s coastal fortresses, creating a calm, contemporary setting with strong local character. The resort has 136 rooms, suites, and villas: 30 rooms, 10 junior suites, eight villas, and 88 one-, two-, and three-bedroom pool villas. Options shown in the fact sheet include One Bedroom Garden View Pool Villa, One Bedroom Beach Pool Villa, Two Bedroom Lagoon View Pool Villa and Three Bedroom Royal Beach Pool Villa. Every room and villa includes WiFi, air-conditioning, an interactive LED TV and media hub, a coffee machine, a minibar, a safe, a pillow menu, a walk-in dressing room, a bath and rain shower, plus 24-hour room service. Pool villas also include a personalised villa host service.
Days can include tennis, padel, badminton, mini-golf, the outdoor jungle gym and non-motorised water sports. Boat and water activities include diving, snorkelling, dhow cruises, dolphin watching and fishing, although these are unavailable during Khareef from June to September. Al Bahhara Kids Club and Alshirae Play Space provide activities for children and teenagers. Other options include local excursions, Jebel and Desert Safari tours, cooking classes, and Cinema under the Stars.
One main outdoor infinity pool overlooks the beach, while 88 villas have their own private pools. Al Mina serves food and drinks to poolside loungers, and beach cabanas are also available. For wellbeing, Anantara Spa has five treatment rooms, a Moroccan Hammam, wellness relaxation areas, Ayurveda treatments and a nail salon. You can also use the fitness centre, fitted with Technogym Artis equipment, or take part in the resort’s wider wellness programme.
Three named restaurants cover a range of dining styles. Sakalan is an all-day dining venue with an international breakfast buffet, made-to-order hot dishes, live stations, and themed buffet evenings. Al Mina serves Mediterranean-style lunches and evening dining by the shore, with drinks available throughout the day. Mekong focuses on dishes from Thailand, China and Vietnam, with indoor and terrace seating. Dakar Lounge serves handcrafted beverages, while Designer Dining by Anantara offers private meals in selected locations. Spice Spoons by Anantara provides Thai and Arab cooking classes, and 24-hour room service is available.
The resort sits beside Al Baleed Archaeological Park and near The Land of Frankincense Museum, giving you easy access to key heritage sites. Other listed attractions include Al Haffa Souq, Al Fizayah Beach, Al Mughsail Beach and Al Marneef Cave, Wadi Darbat, Taqah Castle, Jabal Samhan and the Empty Quarter. Salalah International Airport is around a 15-minute drive away, with airport transfers and private car hire available on request.
