Mondrian Doha stands on West Bay Lagoon in Doha, a hotel conceived by Marcel Wanders as a modern cultural fairytale. Scale, form and iconography come together in a design led setting that has earned a Forbes Travel Guide award and Green Key certification for sustainability. Waterfront views stretch from the lagoon towards The Pearl, and the airport is a 20-minute drive away. It suits travellers who want real character in a city setting rather than a beach resort.
Across 211 rooms and 59 suites, each space tells an Arabian Nights tale through a contemporary lens, with motifs such as pierced brass lighting and desert dune flooring. Signature rooms offer city or skyline views, marble bathrooms and soaking tubs beneath Swarovski chandeliers, and the terrace version adds private outdoor space over the waterfront. The Loft and one bedroom suites bring separate living space and kitchenettes, while the Skyline Two Bed Suite suits families. At the top end, the Opal Suite has a Scandinavian sauna and a private gold cage lift.
Evenings are the lively part of the day. Sushi and Steak Night runs at Morimoto on Sundays, Black Orchid hosts Thursday and Saturday nights, and Rise stages weekend parties on the 27th floor. By day, the indoor pool, spa and fitness centre are on hand, and a kids club sits alongside the pool.
ESPA sits in a secret garden at the hotel and holds 12 private treatment rooms, spa suites and couples rooms. Separate female and male areas include a Finnish sauna and steam rooms for women, and wet and dry steam rooms with an ice fountain for men, while the Turkish Hammam is a highlight for both. Treatments range from massages and facials to Hydrafacial, Dermalux LED therapy and hammam rituals. The indoor pool opens onto a terrace for sunbathing, with the gym, sauna and steam room alongside, and the fitness centre opens around the clock with your room key.
Eight restaurants and bars give the stay plenty of variety. Morimoto Doha, the first Middle East restaurant from Masaharu Morimoto, serves Japanese cuisine, while Mondrian Bistro offers all day dining from sunrise to late night. Patio serves Mediterranean fusion plates with live DJs and city views, Hudson Tavern focuses on handcrafted burgers and live sports, and Ellamia looks after coffee, pastries and salad bowls. Smoke and Mirrors is a cigar and cocktail lounge, with Black Orchid and Rise completing the evening line up.
Complimentary access to Doha Sands Beach comes with transport from the hotel, giving you a day by the sea without leaving the city. Legtaifiya train station is a 3-minute drive or a 13-minute walk away, and the city centre is 12 minutes by car or 30 minutes by train.
