FCC Angkor by Avani sits on the riverside in Siem Reap's Old French Quarter, in a historic mansion that once served as the residence of the French Governor. FCC stands for Foreign Correspondents' Club, and that journalistic past lives on in vintage typewriters, newspapers and rotary phones. The hotel holds a Michelin Key for 2026. It has 80 colonial-style rooms and suites, and breakfast is included in every rate, so your mornings need no planning. It suits couples, families and anyone who wants a calm base within a short distance of Angkor Wat.
The Heritage Deluxe Room has garden views, the Heritage Courtyard Room overlooks the main pool, the Colonial Premier Room adds a private balcony and the Colonial Pool Access Room gives you direct access to the water. The four suites are the Governor Suite, the Garden Suite with its own garden and plunge pool, the Family Suite with river views and the River View Suite with outdoor living and dining. Suites include a complimentary minibar refill.
AvaniKids welcomes children aged 4 to 12 daily from 09:00 to 19:00, with toys, slides and new friends to find, and babysitting is available for a fee. Adults can use the gym, swim in either pool or book a Visaya Spa treatment. Beyond the hotel you can try Angkor by Vespa or vintage Jeep tours, quad biking across rice fields, golf and an evening at Phare Circus. Twice a week, dinner comes with Apsara and folkloric dancers. Pets are welcome too.
Two pools give you a choice of pace. The pool in the Heritage wing sits beside the gym and has a poolside bar, while the larger pool belongs to the Colonial wing. Visaya Spa is open from 10:00 to 20:00 and offers three signature massages: the Visaya Signature Massage, the Bamboo Signature Massage with warmed bamboo sticks, and the Chakra Balance Therapy Massage, which brings in singing bowls. Couples' packages are also available, and Wi-Fi is free.
The Mansion is the hotel's restaurant, serving Khmer, Asian and International dishes from breakfast to dinner. Amok fish, beef lok lak with Kampot pepper and a Wagyu burger appear among the highlights, and dinner brings seasonal set menus that explore Khmer terroir. Scribe is the bar for cocktails and light bites from 15:00 until midnight. The FCC Botanicals Tasting Room showcases Cambodian spirits, including FCC House Vodka and FCC Herbal Gin, with complimentary tastings. Kids' menus are available.
The hotel stands beside the Royal Residence on Pokambor Avenue, with the Angkor National Museum, Kandal Village, Artisans Angkor and the Made in Cambodia Market among the nearby attractions. Temple days can begin with a monk blessing and meditation at a local pagoda before Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm, with trips further afield to Banteay Srey, Kbal Spean, Kulen Mountain and Beng Mealea. Siem Reap Angkor International Airport is about a 55-minute drive away. Complimentary parking is available.
