Fairmont Singapore stands at 80 Bras Basah Road in the Civic District, directly above the City Hall and Esplanade MRT stations and a short walk from Marina Bay. The hotel presents itself as a 5-star address, and its 778 rooms and suites suit business travellers, couples and families alike. Rooms are sold on a room only or bed and breakfast basis, with check in from 3pm and check out at noon. Changi Airport is a 20-minute drive away.

All 778 guestrooms and suites open onto a private balcony, many of them framing Marina Bay or the city skyline. Interiors draw on Singapore’s Peranakan heritage, and every room carries Le Labo bath products, a Nespresso machine with daily capsules, TWG tea, a filtered water dispenser and 24-hour in-room dining. Fairmont Gold rooms and suites add access to the Level 25 lounge, where daily breakfast, evening cocktails and a dedicated concierge come as standard.

Six outdoor tennis courts, two artificial grass and four clay, sit alongside the fitness centre, which is open to those aged 18 and above and runs fitness classes with personal trainers on hand. A guided tour of the urban aquaponics farm, launched in 2019, covers the technology behind it, a tasting of fresh produce and feeding the fish. Jogging routes start at the door, and children’s menus, cribs and babysitting are arranged on request.

Two freeform outdoor pools sit on Level 8 within a landscaped setting, with The Eight poolside restaurant beside them and a separate kids’ pool nearby. Willow Stream Spa occupies 50,000 square feet and holds 23 treatment rooms, among them couple suites with private jacuzzis, alongside lounges, whirlpools, steam rooms, saunas and a cool plunge. Massages, body treatments and facials are all offered. The 24-hour Fitness Centre adds a cardio theatre, strength training area, fitness studio and wellness studio.

Twelve restaurants and bars are open to you here, with cross-signing privileges at the adjoining sister property, Swissôtel The Stamford. Prego has served handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza since 1986. Asian Market Cafe lays out a halal-certified buffet of Southeast Asian favourites. The Eight offers casual poolside dining, fresh gourmet plates and artisanal cocktails. ANTI:DOTE pours afternoon tea from its chest of drawers by day and cure-all cocktails with tapas by night.

The Civic District puts National Gallery Singapore, the Singapore Art Museum, CHIJMES and Clarke Quay within reach on foot, while Merlion Park, Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay lie a little further along the waterfront. Raffles City Shopping Centre sits beneath the hotel and Suntec Convention Centre is close by. Changi Airport is 20 minutes by car, or 45 minutes by MRT from City Hall station.
