Holidays to Airelles Le Guanahani, Saint-Barthelemy

Airelles Le Guanahani opens on 1 November 2026 at the north east end of Saint-Barthélemy, on a seven hectare estate between the Grand Cul-de-Sac lagoon and Anse Maréchal. The grounds stretch either side of a private peninsula, facing the Caribbean Sea and Île de la Tortue, within a protected nature reserve. Traditional Creole architecture, with verandas and brightly painted wood, sets the tone for a stay shaped by sea and garden views.

Rooms and suites are spread across small independent houses between the lagoon and the gardens, so your stay feels closer to a private residence than a hotel corridor. The hotel lists twenty categories, from Chambre vue Baie and Chambre Plage to Suite Hibiscus, Suite Pélican and Suite Admiral. Several categories come with a pool, and the largest, Garden House and Suite Bougainvillea, each sleep up to seven adults.

The lagoon beach has calm, clear water for easy swimming, with snorkelling over lively reefs, paddleboarding and kayaking. Maréchal Beach, on the other side of the peninsula, offers wilder scenery, with waves breaking on rocks and palm trees behind. On land there is a tennis court, gym sessions and nature walks through the grounds, which keep you active between swims and give you a different view of the estate.

Two pools give you a choice of mood. An overflowing pool sits slightly above the sand, framed by palms and gardens, with direct beach access and a Pool Bar facing the lagoon. A second, adults only spa pool is tucked into greenery away from the main areas, with loungers for quiet moments. Spa Airelles, set in the tropical gardens, works with the Laboratoires Botanique Avancée brand and offers tailored rituals that combine plant stem cells with advanced biotechnology. Gym sessions are available too.

La Table du Guanahani is the main restaurant, serving a buffet at breakfast and lunch and a Caribbean inspired à la carte menu with international classics in the evening. The hotel describes its cooking as solar cuisine, with Caribbean inspiration and French know-how. Three bars complete the choice: Le Pélican on the beachfront, the Pool Bar beside the water, where lunch is served on the sand, and The Library in the lobby.

The setting is the main attraction, with water close whichever side of the peninsula you choose. Both beaches sit inside a protected nature reserve, and the view across the water takes in Île de la Tortue. You can walk from the calm lagoon to the wilder shore of Maréchal Beach, then return to the gardens and houses where you stay. The estate covers seven hectares, so there is room to move between beaches, pools and spa at your own pace.
