Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort sits between the Pitons, the twin peaks of a UNESCO World Heritage site, in SoufriĆØre on Saint Lucia. The resort spreads across more than 100 acres of tropical rainforest and opens onto the white sand of Anse des Pitons, and it holds One Michelin Key in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. Plantation style design runs through the accommodation. The resort is not fully all-inclusive, so you can choose dining as you go or add a package covering daily meals and select drinks.
Accommodation ranges from Luxury Sugar Mill Rooms at the centre of the resort to cottages higher up the mountain, bungalows on the shoreline, and villas and residences of up to four bedrooms. Views take in the Pitons, the rainforest or the Caribbean Sea, and select accommodations add plunge pools, terraces or walled gardens. Butler service is available in every luxury accommodation, and rooms include a Nespresso coffee maker, a minibar and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Land and water sports are close at hand. The Sugar Beach Racquet Club has one tennis court, one padel court and two pickleball courts, which can be reserved by the hour at no charge. A full PADI dive facility reaches sites five to twenty minutes away, and canoeing and other non-motorised watersports are available. Evenings bring Tiki Tuesdays and cocktail masterclasses, while the V Team Kids Club runs the Sugar Club for ages four to eleven and the Spice Club for tweens and teens.
A beachside resort pool looks towards the Pitons, with poolside cabanas available to rent for a shaded afternoon. The Rainforest Spa is set in the canopy, with treehouse treatment rooms above a stream and treatments that draw on volcanic minerals and locally grown cocoa. A fitness centre and yoga studio stand on the beach, with classes through the day, and mineral-rich soaks and sunrise yoga are part of the wellness offer.
Dining centres on BontƩ Restaurant and Bar, a beachfront spot with live musicians in the evening, and Saltwood, the signature restaurant with views of the Pitons. The Terrace Restaurant serves breakfast, Jalousie Grill finishes the catch of the day on an Argentinian grill, and Cane Bar offers South-East Asian small plates. Saltwood Lounge, Jetty Burgers, Boopa's for ice cream and coffee, and the Cocoa Mill chocolate boutique complete the line-up.
Hewanorra International Airport is about 18 miles away, roughly 45 minutes by car, and George F L Charles Airport in Castries is about 31 miles away, around one hour and 20 minutes. Private transfers can be arranged through the concierge. The Pitons, rainforest trails, waterfalls and the sulphur springs near SoufriĆØre are the island's best known sights, and the resort can arrange a speed boat tour, a sunset cruise or a chocolate making experience.
