Holidays to Oyster Bay Beach Resort

Oyster Bay Beach Resort stands on Emerald Merit Road in Oyster Pond, just south of the French and Dutch divide on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. Accommodation comes in four categories: Courtyard rooms, Studios, Suites and the Mainsail Penthouse, so couples, families and larger groups can all find a fit. Free Wi-Fi covers the property, guest rooms included, and the front desk is staffed around the clock, so arrivals at any hour are easily handled.

Courtyard rooms sit in the restored Courtyard Pavilion on the second floor and sleep two, while the Deluxe Courtyard Lofts sleep four. Studios have a king bed, a furnished balcony and a half kitchen, with ocean, marina or garden views. Suites have one or two bedrooms, a full kitchen and a furnished balcony, sleeping four to six. The Mainsail Penthouse adds a rooftop pool, heated Jacuzzi and summer kitchen.

The Activities Desk arranges island tours, casino outings, dinner cruises, horseback riding, deep sea fishing and snorkelling trips to Anguilla or Prickly Pear, and sells snorkelling gear for the reef off Dawn Beach. Bike riding, mountain biking, parasailing and scuba diving can also be booked. On site you will find a putting green, a marina and the Quarter Deck gaming room.

The infinity pool is built on an old coral reef that you can watch from the water, with St. Barths in view about ten miles across the ocean. St. Maarten Nectar Wellness Spa is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00 by appointment, with facials, massages, manicures, pedicures and body treatments. The fitness centre opens by room key and has bicycles, treadmills, elliptical machines and free weights.

The Infinity Restaurant serves international cuisine daily from 07:30 to 22:00, with an air conditioned dining room behind arched picture windows and an outdoor deck over the pool and ocean. Infinity Bar is open daily from 09:00 to midnight. Veranda Market and Bistro sits on Dawn Beach, with rotisserie chicken, barbecue, hand made pizzas, fresh pastries, groceries and beach service.

Dawn Beach lies along the southern side of the resort, recently designated a Blue Flag beach, with free chairs and umbrellas and snorkelling within wading distance of the sand. Northeast trade winds keep the climate mild, so you can plan beach days and anniversary dinners with confidence, with coastal temperatures between 68 and 81 degrees Fahrenheit. US dollars are widely accepted, and the Antillean guilder and the euro are used on the Dutch and French sides.
