Holidays to The Villas at Simpson Bay Beach Resort and Marina

The Villas at Simpson Bay Resort stand on Billy Folly Road in Simpson Bay, St. Maarten, the small Caribbean island shared by France and the Netherlands. The villa and suites sleep from two to six, so the address suits couples, friends and families alike. Rooms come with kitchens or kitchenettes, so mealtimes can be as relaxed as you wish. Some rates include a buffet breakfast, and Princess Juliana Airport is usually about fifteen minutes away by road.

Four accommodation types are available. The Two Bedroom Villa sleeps six, with a king bedroom, a second bedroom with two double beds, two bathrooms and a living and dining area. The Suite sleeps four, with one king bedroom, a full kitchen and Murphy beds for two. Both Junior Suites sleep two, with a kitchenette and a furnished balcony facing the ocean. Air conditioning, blackout curtains and free Wi-Fi come as standard.

Aquamania runs from the marina, lobby and beach, with daily scuba diving, snorkelling, day sails to Anguilla and Prickly Pear, evening cruises and ferry trips to St. Barts. On land, the resort has three floodlit tennis courts, and the Activity Center or the Concierge can show you what the week has planned for you and your family. Cribs and high chairs are available for younger travellers.

Sunset Spa, part of Simpson Bay Resort, Marina and Spa, offers facials and full body massages, with a downloadable treatment list on the resort website. The resort also describes days of beach and pool fun, and you can spend them relaxing on the powder-white sands of Simpson Bay or staking your claim to a palm tree. Time here can be as unhurried as you like.

Six venues are shared with Simpson Bay Resort, Marina and Spa. La Patrona serves authentic Mexican cuisine from breakfast through to dinner, Bovin Steak House opens each evening, and Juliette's Bistro offers pastries, cheese fondue and sandwiches on an indoor or deck table. Replay Restaurant and Bar shows the big game with sushi and pizzas, Café Britt pours coffee and Coco Beach Bar sits on the shore.

Simpson Bay Resort, Marina and Spa shares its grounds and beach with the villas, and the resort lists Princess Juliana Airport as the closest international airport. Round the island snorkel trips visit Pinel and Tintamarre, while Saba and St. Barts are day trips by boat. US dollars are widely accepted, though Dutch St. Maarten officially uses the Netherlands Antillean guilder and the French side uses the euro.
