Young Island Resort is a private island retreat just off St Vincent, reached by a two-minute ferry after a 25-minute road transfer. Set across 13 acres of tropical gardens and forming a national wildlife reserve, the resort has 29 cottages and an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. You can spend time on the beach, explore the island or head onto the Caribbean waters, making it particularly suited to couples looking for privacy and an unhurried island stay.
Accommodation comprises 29 cottages and suites set within the tropical landscape. Each has a king-size bed, local artwork, natural light, an open-air garden shower and a private stone or tiled patio. The property includes 19 Superior Cottages, some of which interconnect and offer twin beds; four Deluxe Suites with sea views, sitting areas, and large terraces; and five Luxury Suites with private plunge pools. The two-bedroom Duvernette Suite adds a kitchenette, dining room and small infinity-edge pool.
Days can be as active or as unhurried as you prefer. Non-motorised water sports are available from the island, while scuba diving offers the chance to explore beneath the Caribbean Sea. Tennis is also available on land, along with swimming in the lagoon pool, relaxing on the beach, and walking through the tropical gardens. The island setting also gives you views towards St Vincent while you move between the resort’s outdoor spaces.
You can cool off in the lagoon swimming pool or choose accommodation with its own private plunge pool or small infinity edge pool. The Spa is set among tropical foliage and offers a range of massages and beauty treatments, providing a quieter option after time in the water or exploring the island. With the beach and gardens close by, it is easy to balance pool time and spa treatments with time outdoors.
Dining takes place in open-air, thatched-roof huts by the beach, with menus combining Continental dishes and regional Caribbean flavours. Freshly caught fish and lobster are among the local specialities, while the menu changes regularly to highlight fresh ingredients. You can also try the resort’s freshly baked bread in six flavours, including banana, coconut and cinnamon. For drinks, the Coconut Bar serves the signature Coconut Delight in a fresh coconut.
Young Island lies just offshore from St Vincent, with the private ferry crossing taking around two minutes from the dock. After arriving in St Vincent, the road transfer to the dock takes about 25 minutes. As the island is itself a national wildlife reserve, you can explore tropical gardens and shoreline without travelling farther. From the hilltop Duvernette Suite, Fort Duvernette is visible across the ocean, adding a distinctive local landmark to the surrounding views.
